BQ40Z50-R1: BQ40Z50-R1

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50, BQSTUDIO

1)Hello experts, In the 4s application of the BQ40Z50, it was found that after over-discharge, after the discharge MOS was turned off, the charging could not be recovered.

Note 1: When the DC power supply is charged at a rate of 1v/ms, it is found that the flag bits ASCCL and ASCC turn red, and the charging rate can be recovered at a rate of 0.1v/ms.

Note 2: The test is a finished battery.

Note 3: After discharging the battery to over-discharge protection, use the DC power supply to charge it. The DC power supply model is Chroma 62006P-30-80.

2)ASCC setting parameters are as follows.

Question 1: Is ASCC protection related to the DC power output rate?

Question 2: Is there any other explanation for the above question?

  • 您好,正在查询,稍后回复。

  • Supplement 1)
It is found that using Chroma 62006P-30-80 DC power supply at a rate of 0.05V/ms can use 16.5V 0.2A to charge the undervoltage protection battery, but other rates cannot.
    Supplement 2)
Using a DC power supply of 12V or 13V is not affected by the speed.

  • 您好,Can you share the .gg file and SREC along with a log of the data from BQStudio?

We may also need to review the schematic since the ASCC is a hardware level protection and operates very quickly, this means transients on the lines could cause the protection to trigger if they are large enough. Especially if the SRN/SRP lines get coupled into another trace.
