66AK2G12 power supply

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2G12

According to the requirement of data sheet, the power supply for 66AK2G12 on our product board is CVDD&CVDDD1:0.9V, DVDD_DDR:1.35V, DVD18:1.8V and DVD33:3.3V. At present, the work is basically normal. Because DDR may not be used in our application, DVDD_DDR can be connected to 1.35V according to the working conditions recommended in section 5.4 of data sheet,DVDD_DDR can be connected to DVDD18. So I did an experiment like this:

1. Disabling DDR in Firmware;

2. At this time, the voltage and current of PCBA are 5V/0.56A.

3. Remove DDR device U15 and VTT power U16 from the board, then connect DVDD_DDR to DVD18. After power-on, PCBA can work normally and access DSP through GUI, but the working current of PCBA becomes 0.64A, about 80 mA more than before.

It is said that the power consumption should be reduced theoretically without DDR and DDR power supply, but the power consumption will be increased instead. Since there is no more detailed description of connecting DVDD_DDR to 1.8V without DDR in datasheet, I do not know whether it is OK to do so, whether it is normal to increase the power consumption, and whether it will produce the reliability of DSP. Adverse effects? Thank you.

When DDR EMIF is not being used, the DVDD_DDR supply may be connected to a 1.8 V power source to eliminate the 1.35 V power.source which is required when using DDR EMIF.
