TPS2547: TPS2547

Part Number: TPS2547
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2546,

(Due to the Christmas holiday, I post the question here, thanks for team's help)

When my customers use TPS2546, there were many testing issues that it cannot charge externally:

(1) When the phone is turned on, the device cannot charge: iPhone 11 pro max, iPhone 12 pro, iPhone 13, iPad pro 11, Xiaomi 12 pro.

(2) When the phone is turned off, the device cannot charge: Samsung Note10+,  Samsung Z Flip, Samsung S21, Samsung A52, Huawei Mate 30 pro, Google Pixel 5, LG G8, ipad pro 11, iPad mini6

I've confirm with BU, TPS2547 can compatible with more types of phones, but will not be available for testing on BU side.

If field team DIN TPS2547, but it is still not compatible, how should FAE solve this bug, is there a specific way to solve the compatibility issue?

  • Hi,

Charging issues with phones are unfortunately common and it is not necessarily the TPS2546 that causes the phones not to charge. The phone and different versions of software on the phone impact the charging behavior of the phone.

In order to debug what is happening, we would have to see the DP, DM, VBUS pins when the system during the connection process to see if it is the phone of the TPS2546 that is at issue.

This is a challenging issue to debug because it will change on the same phone with different firmware, so we do not have a clear single method to debug.

    Regards,
