AM68A: Is TDA4VL-Q1 and Am68A pin to pin? Can I exchange my SK-AM68 development board? Thank you!

Part Number: AM68A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SK-AM68, TDA4VL-Q1

TDA4VL-Q  and  Am68A    is  23 mm x 23 mm, 0.8-mm pitch, 770-pin FCBGA ,Is TDA4VL-Q1  and Am68A pin to pin? Can I exchange my SK-AM68 development board? Tks!

  • Hello,

The TDA4VL-Q and AM68A are different versions of the same processor, and they are pin-to-pin compatible. This means that you can exchange your SK-AM68 development board with a TDA4VL-Q1-based board without any issues related to pin compatibility. The TDA4VL-Q1 is an automotive-grade version of the TDA4VL-Q, designed for automotive applications with higher reliability and quality standards.

So, if you have a development board designed for the AM68A processor, you should be able to use it with the TDA4VL-Q1 processor without any problems.

Will a version of the SDK similar to 'ti processor sdk rtos am68a_xxxx' also be launched for AM68A? Or can I directly use the "ti processor sdk rtos j721s2 evm xxxx" version of the SDK on my SK-AM68 development board?

  • Hello,

It is recommended to use the version of the SDK specifically designed for the AM68A processor, such as the "ti processor sdk rtos am68a_xxxx" version. While it may be possible to use the "ti processor sdk rtos j721s2 evm xxxx" version on the SK-AM68 development board, it is not guaranteed to be fully compatible and may not provide optimal performance. It is always best to use the version of the SDK that is specifically tailored for your processor to ensure compatibility and performance.
