Subject: Inquiry Regarding Using LM359 as a Voltage Follower
Dear TI Support,
I’m considering using the LM359 op-amp in a voltage follower (unity gain buffer) configuration.
My application involves a single-supply system with V+ = 12V and V− = 0V (GND), and I need to buffer signals in the 0V to 12V range.
Could you please confirm whether the LM359 is suitable for this use case?
Specifically:
-
What are the input and output voltage ranges when operating on a single 12V supply?
-
Is it possible to achieve reliable buffering down to 0V or up to 12V without significant distortion?
If the LM359 is not ideal for this, could you recommend a suitable high-speed op-amp with rail-to-rail input and output?
If possible, it would be very helpful if you could also provide a basic simulation schematic or test circuit example for reference.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards,
