INA114: Why there is a notch on the top of the IC, while the one I bought is with a dot on the IC?

Part Number: INA114

Dear All,

I bought a INA114APm which should be with a notch like this:

However, the one I received is:

Is this a design change or I am fooled by others?

  • Hi Mans,

There are multiple molding tools used for imprinting the Pin 1 identifier and different units go through different molding tools. Hence, it is expected to have different sized / appearance Pin 1 identifiers on different units, even in the ones with the same Lot Trace Code (LTC) and the ones in the same tape.

In terms of authenticity, we generally recommend confirming that the source of the product is TI, and we do not recommend judging from the silkscreen, appearance, etc. because other pirated IC manufacturers can imitate it.

    Thanks,

    Amy
