XTR116: What is the minimum pulse width that the XTR116/117 device supported for the input signal?

I want to design a 2-wire detector,the signal output by the detector is a high-speed pulse signal,the width of the output signal is 1us.Can i use the XTR116 for the 2-wire detector interface circuit design?

Hi Alex,

Usually 4-20mA current loops tend to be lower bandwidth devices. The small signal bandwidth of the XTR116/XTR117 is 380kHz, which is about 2.6us. Not fast enough respond to a 1us without it becoming heavily distorted.

Is a heavy distorted signal acceptable? Would a 3-wire system be also possible?
