The mmWavedemo visualizer record button saves point cloud data coming over UART, in a file using javascript's streamWriter function. Please note that this is not the ADC raw data which you get with the capture demo but the processed point cloud data, and this file is not meant to be read by capture_demo.m. You can read about the Visualizer Record Start function in the mmWaveDemoVisualizer user guide as shown below:
