TI AWR1443 mm wave Radar Chirp parameters for Vital Sign Extraction

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443

Hello,

I am using AWR1443 mm wave radar chip for vital sign extraction. I found that, frame periodicity is 50 ms and  chirp duration is 60 microsecond; so the number of chirps in one frame should be around 833; but i was wondering why two chirps are used in one frame for vital sign extraction? I also looked into demo video and found that the sweeping bandwidth is around 3.99 GHz so based on my calculation range resolution is around .0375 m. So i was wondering why such low range resolution is required for physiological sensing or in other words, what is the minimum bandwidth requirement for vital sign extraction? Another design parameter issue is that the maximum velocity can be determined 16.25 m/s and how that maximum velocity parameter is selected? Because maximum velocity parameter determines the chirp duration as well.

I look forward to hearing you soon. I appreciate your help also.

Thank you,

Mahmud
