ADS1284: Input Referred Noise Excessive/High

Part Number: ADS1284
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1283

1. In the ADS1284 configured at 4000 SPS with PGA and chopping enabled, an internal 400-Ω short path was used to measure input-referred noise. When optimizing idle tones via ID_CFG’s OFFSET[1:0] (set to 100 mV/PGA and 75 mV/PGA), a noise increase of ~0.3 µVrms was observed in ~5% of samples. Further investigation is needed to determine if this stems from offset calibration dynamics or chopper-modulated noise

2. In the above case, set the OFFSET[1:0] in the ID_CFG to Offset disabled, and Input Referred Noise to the normal value.

3.However, this situation does not have this problem in ADS1283 and ADS1283B, and the Input Referred Noise can be optimized after setting 100/PGA mV/75/PGA mV, but the opposite is true for ADS1284.
