DLPLCRC410EVM: Mechanical interference near J13 connector on DLPLCR410EVM – is the plastic standoff removable?

Part Number: DLPLCRC410EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPLCR70EVM

Hello TI DLP team,

I am using the DLPLCR410EVM and DLPLCR70EVM in a custom optical setup .

I am connecting a flex cable to the J13 connector on the back side of the board. During installation, I noticed that a black plastic cylindrical standoff / spacer located very close to the J13 connector causes mechanical interference, preventing the flex cable connector from being fully inserted and seated properly.

My questions are:

  1. Is this plastic standoff intended to be user-removable?

  2. Can it be safely removed without affecting electrical performance, grounding, or signal integrity of the board?image.png
