Hello,TMDS171 is pin to pin compatible with TMDS181, the difference between them is that TMDS181 could support 6Gbps data rate while TMDS171 support

3.4 Gbps Data Rates. In addition, TMDS171 is compatible with HDMI1.4b Electrical Parameters, so if your application is HDMI1.4, you could use TMDS171 for replacement.
