DS90CR288A: How should the Receiver know the Cameralink configuration and data bit assignments in Transmitter side?

Dear support team,

I've got a question about the Cameralink in my design, I'm using 3 pcs of DS90CR288A( 3 pcs of DS90CR287 in transmitter side)  so as to implement a Full configuration of Cameralink, please refer the picutre below about the Cameralink configurations.

In order to do the backward compatibility of Base and Medium configuration, I may need to use these 2 configurations in my design as well.

So my question is how should the receiver side know the configuration and bit assignment in transmitter side? consider if the Camera is not designed by ourself but by a third party company.
