Who is the tier 1 and OEM?

No registers need to be configured for AUX communication - the source (i.e. SoC) should start sending AUX transaction upon detection of HPD from the sync device (i.e. 983). 

Are you able to provide any additional context on this issue (i.e. SoC utilized, DP vs. eDP configuration, number of cycles needed to observe a failure, etc.)?

Also, where in the system is the probe being placed to read the AUX signal? Depending on where the probe is placed, the AUX electrical specifications may change.
