I know it will be inverted, so I want to know if there is a way to make the actions the same, or to let the MCU know whether the current input source is SINK or SOURCE?
Both Sink and Source modes will output a high when 24V is seen across the INx and LEDx pin. When the sensor is CLOSED the corresponding OUTx will be HIGH. Therefore, no inversion will be needed.
