The ISO1228 will generate a fault on the nFAULT pin if any fault is detected. The exact fault can be read in serial mode to detect if there was a field side power loss.(See 7.3.5 FAULT Indication and https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slla640) for more details.
So in Parallel Interface Mode, the nFAULT pin cannot be used to detect faults, and it must switch back to SPI mode to be used, right? Are there any other ways to detect faults while in Parallel Interface Mode?
