launchPad支持的Value Line MSP430 芯片中最多就只有USI，没有集成了USCI module的MCU，USI非常简化，但是只能实现SPI和IIC，而且launchPad的UART是接在P1.1与P1.2上的，实际上是TA0.0与TA0.1，也就是说launchPad上的UART使用定时器A0，通过GPIO模拟的。
