hello TI team

I discussed this with our Safety experts. First agreed that the FMA is typically per device and doing a pin-by-pin analysis is the standard our FS devices documentation will follow, see the DRV8263-Q1FS documentation for example. We cannot say this with certainty but only having one of these pins open (OUTx or VM) will likely lead to less current capability.
This documentation issue comes from the device being developed for industrial first and then being spun into and automotive variant to fill a market gap. I would recommend having the customer switch to DRV8263-Q1 or even the DRV8245/4/3-Q1which were designed with learnings from the DRV8262-Q1 in mind so more diagnostics and some design improvements. The DRV8263-Q1 and DRV824x-Q1 devices also are smaller than the DRV8262-Q1 while still being able to deliver the same or greater power.
Hi Vivian
Thank you for your reply and suggestions. My current situation is that I have chosen DRV8263, so the current design will remain unchanged. Therefore, if you can provide further files for the FMA analysis on your side, it would be very helpful for me.
