DRV8705-Q1: the purpose of offline Open Load and short circuit of DRV8705

hello E2E,

I want to know the purpose of offline Open Load and short circuit of DRV8705 ? as i know, it's a offline test (like initial test), it doesn't contribute to function safety(not continuously test), so why we design this function, rather than online open load and short circuit?

The offline open load detection (OLD) diagnostics feature ensures that the load is connected to the driver before driving the load. This is a safety feature so you can determine bad load connection without potentially spinning the motor.
