BQ27542EVM: How does hibernate works in BQ27542

Part Number: BQ27542EVM

If the fuel gauge was returned to normal mode from Hibernate mode, will it re-entry to hibernate mode once the current is less than Hibernate current?

Or shall I need to re-configure it by I2C to Hibernate mode after wakeup?

  • Hello! We have received your case and will take some time. Thank you for your patience.

  • If the gauge entered normal mode from hibernate mode then the regular conditions apply to re-enter hibernate mode (relaxed cell, OCV measurement, OCV < Hibernate V or HIBERNATE in CONTROL_STATUS is 1). It's not just about the current but the gauge must, at a minimum, take an OCV measurement in relax.

HIBERNATE in CONTROL_STATUS gets cleared automatically when the gauge exits hibernate mode so if you want to over-ride the Hibernate V check, then you'll have to issue the SET_HIBERNATE command on I2C after wakeup.
