TPS1210-Q1: Short-circuit protection question

Part Number: TPS1210-Q1

Hi team,

CosMX found the G2 of TPS1210-Q1 would keep high voltage (Q2 keeps on status) when occuring short circuit protection. Could you help to confirm is it expected? And why Q1 and Q2 wouldn't be turned off when triggering SCP? Thanks a lot.

  • the pull down of G2 would not help prevent a short circuit as the energy would pass through the body diode of the fet, this could cause too much power going through the body diode of your mosfet causing it to be damaged in the process.

As only G1 would be able to block the current it is the only one needed to be pulled down in a short circuit scenario
