TPS92633-Q1: How to use PWMx PIN

We are using the TPS92633-Q1 in Porsche's lamp designs. In our schematic, the PWM pins are pulled up to the IC's VIN (13.5V) via a 10kΩ resistor.

During the schematic review, the Porsche EE team raised a concern: they believe this pull-up configuration might cause issues, even when the PWM pins are not actively driven.

Their question is: Should we leave the PWM pins floating instead? Could you please advise on the best practice for this configuration? Thank you.

Hi,

I need more information about the configuration. A schematic or waveform would be appreciated. Is the PWM controlled by an external MCU? What is the concern with the pull-up configuration?

There should be no damage to the device as long as the PWM voltage value is within V(Supply) and 0V.

Hello,

The PWM pins don't connect by an external MCU,It is pulled up to V(Supply) through a 10k resistor.

I think this design is OK, and don't produce false and other results.

Hi,

The 10k pull up resistor on PWM is acceptable. You could see unexpected results if PWM was left floating but generally PWM is low if left floating.
