We are using the TPS25947 as an electronic fuse to protect the backend circuit at the input end of the 12V power supply system. Additionally, we have incorporated an 18V TVS diode, SMBJ18CA, in front of the TPS25947. This decision was made after our previous tests revealed that the transient pulse experienced by the 12V adapter during insertion and removal could reach 21V. While referencing the EVM, we noticed that it utilizes the SMBJ16CA. After comprehensive consideration, we ultimately opted for the SMBJ18CA. However, based on feedback from the client, some 18V TVS diodes, SMBJ18CA, have also experienced breakdown and burnout. Could you please assist in elucidating the potential causes for this?
