TI team,

 

I have collected data for six 18650 cells (5000mAh). When calculating the ChemID, the top recommended ID for all six cells is 8173. I checked in bqStudio and found that ChemID 8173 corresponds to a 4.3V chemistry system, while my cells are 4.2V type. Could you please advise whether this ID can be used?

 

The second recommended ID is 8348, which matches the 4.2V chemistry system, but its DOD deviation exceeds 3%.

        To select ChemID with smaller DOD error and matched cell voltage.

       DOD deviation is  2.96% for ChemID 8348 in your report.

       If you have provided correct cell parameter to GPCCHEM Application software & framework | TI.com , ChemID 8348 is recommended.

       Otherwise ,please use three new battery cells to simultaneously collect cell data to match again, and get three GPC_reports.

       Then, you pick the IDs from the reports that have same small DOD errors and matched cell voltage .

       Yes,  8348 is not good choice , but 8173  not also , there is more risk.

      Could you confirm the cell voltage again  that is called "charge voltage" in your cell datasheet.

    According to the cell specification, the charging voltage is specified as 4.2 V. I terminate charging when the cell reaches 4.2 V with a cutoff charging current of 0.01C.Thank you! The cell specification is attached. Do you have any better suggestions?
