LMR16030: LMR16030: Is 3 V on FB allowed when VIN = 0 V?

Part Number: LMR16030

Hello TI Support,

For the LMR16030SDDAR, is it safe to continuously apply 3.0 V to the FB pin while VIN = 0 V?

Please confirm:

  1. Is this condition supported?

  2. What are the maximum allowed FB voltage and external injection current when VIN = 0 V?

  3. Could this cause device damage, latch-up, back-powering, or long-term reliability issues?

If this condition is not supported, please provide the recommended maximum FB voltage/current or the required isolation method.

Best regards,
Wenqiang Lu

  • Thank you for your attention to TI products. We are verifying your issue, please wait for our reply.

  • The datasheet's Absolute Maximum and Recommended Operating Condition tables specify FB pin limits as part of overall device operation, but there is no stated provision, test condition, or guidance for applying an external voltage to the FB pin while VIN = 0 V (i.e., with the IC unpowered). This is an atypical operating condition that TI does not document, so it cannot be confirmed as "safe" from the datasheet alone.
