BQ24630 sense the SRN as the battery voltage and the VCC as the adaptor voltage. If the voltage at VCC is not high enough above the voltage at SRN, the charger is in SLEEP mode - please refer to the SLEEP comparator spec for details. When the charger is in SLEEP mode, the battery powers the system through the BATFET. Once the adaptor voltage at VCC reaches the threshold and the SLEEP mode has been exited, the adapter power is connected to the system through the ACFET.
There is a break-before-make logic that keeps the ACFET and the BATFET off for 10 us to prevent shoot-through current. The gate drive provides fast turnoff and slow turn on to allow soft start upon switching either FET.
