The CP1 is the charge pump of the BQ76952. The charge pump provides a voltage higher than the battery voltage (typically 11V) to Turn-ON the CHG/DSG FETs. So, CP1 is basically the supply for the CHG and DSG drivers.
Using a CP1 value capacitor greater than 2.2 uF increases the rise time of the Charge Pump, and FETs might turn ON while charge pump is still transitioning from low to high. Using a CP1 capacitor larger than 2.2 μF is not recommended with the BQ769x2 family devices.
