BQ76942: the CP1 voltage is affected, when the PACK+ is high voltage

Part Number: BQ76942

We use the high-side board for MOSFETs controlling, and the discharge mosfet and charge mosfet is in serial, when the CHG is off,and the DSG is on,and then connect a high voltage to the PACK+,the CP1 voltage will be affected, and then the charge mosfet is on,if the current is high, the charge mosfet will be damage.

This is our schematic:

This is the waveform we catch when connecting a high voltage to PACK+

  • Hi,

This is a known behavior. When PACK+ exceeds the CP1 voltage, it can cause the CP1 to be pulled up through the DSG pin and its internal connections to CP1. The customer can place an 18V Zener back-to-back with Z1 to give themselves another 18V of headroom on PACK+.

    Regards,
