TPSM33625: DC-DC Coverter TPSM33625 from TI encounter serveral failure, please contract their support engineer for advice. Attachment are PCB files.

Buck converter TPSM33625RDNR is used to covert +28V power rail to -5V rail. Its schematic is dipicted in Fig.1. The 28V power supply comes from a battery array, and the -5V load only draw a current in the range of 10mA~100mA. To my surprise, this buck converter often get burnt shortly after power-up.

 

Could you provide a proven reference application circuit which only occupies a small area like this.
