Part Number: TMDS273EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243BOOST, UNIFLASH, AM2732,
Hi TI Team,
I am using AM2732 EVM + AWR2243BOOST and trying to program the device through UniFlash (XDS110 on J8).
I am encountering persistent Error -1170: “Unable to access the DAP” and I cannot update the XDS110 firmware.
My setup
Board: TMDS273EVM + AWR2243BOOST
Connection: J8 (XDS_USB) → PC
UniFlash: latest version with Emulation package 20.4.0.3835
Current XDS110 firmware: 3.0.0.38
Required firmware: 3.0.0.41 (UniFlash prompts update)
What happened previously
The J8 XDS_USB connector was detached earlier.
After re-soldering:
PC can detect the XDS110 device normally
COM ports (COM15/COM16) are stable
No intermittent USB disconnection observed
Current issue
UniFlash shows:
“Firmware update is required for XDS110 probe (3.0.0.38 → 3.0.0.41)”
When clicking Update, or when trying Load Image / Test Connection, I get:
【Error connecting to the target: (Error -1170 @ 0x0)
Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device and retry the operation.
If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board,
and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).】
I have already tried:
Closed TeraTerm / Visualizer (no COM port occupied)
Power-cycled the board multiple times
Only J8 connected (J10 disconnected)
SOP: SOP0 ON, SOP1 OFF
Different USB cables and PCs
“Test Connection” in UniFlash → same -1170
Questions
Could this be caused by partial damage on J8 JTAG/DAP lines even though USB enumeration works?
Is there any method to force XDS110 firmware recovery via J10 (FTDI) or other path?
What signals/pins around J8 should I ask the technician to verify (TCK/TMS/TDI/TDO/RESET)?
Can I bypass XDS110 and program AM2732 through another interface for diagnosis?
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards
