定点DSP芯片进行浮点数运算会有问题么？

用的是C6416的芯片，这是一个定点DSP芯片。现在要去做浮点数的运算，请问一般需要去做什么特殊的配置么？

我试了一下没做什么专门的配置，似乎完全能正确的进行浮点运算，不出什么问题。但是这样会不会造成效率较低呢？

因为用ccs自带的profile菜单下的clock工具，发现哪怕是一次浮点乘法都要100个cycle（时钟周期）。这会不会有些太长了吧？
