Hello,

We are planning to use two IWR1642BOOST boards to build a synchronized acquisition setup for a research experiment.

The two radars are separated by about 100 meters. One radar will be placed at the starting point and the other radar will be placed at the ending point. Both radars will observe the same moving target simultaneously.

We would like to align the collected data in time during post-processing.

Could you please help confirm:

1. Does IWR1642BOOST support frame-level synchronization between two boards?
2. Can SYNC_IN / SYNC_OUT be used for synchronization?
3. Is there any recommended synchronization solution for two radars separated by about 100 meters?
4. Are there any reference examples or recommended hardware connections for this setup?

1. Yes

2.sync_in is used to do frame level sync. you need to input a pulse of 20ns or longer and change sensor start to hardware trigger mode.

3.100m is too far for gpio pulse, you may need ENET or other interface to derive wanted gpio pulse for sync_in.

4. no, just connectt a wire to sync_in pin and make sure all the IWR1642 receive the pulse at the same time.
