RF430FRL152HEVM: MSP-FET430UIF

Part Number: RF430FRL152HEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RF430FRL152H

I debugged the unknown device in ccs, has not been able to solve, confirm that the switch "s6" has been in a normal state, "jumper sv2" normal, RF430FRL152HEVM can be detected with the mobile phone, hope to be able to be solved

  • 你好,工程师将在工作时间为你解答。

  • Hi,

We've got the issue and escalated to E2E, please expect the response.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately we don't understand what issues you have.  It sounds like connecting and debugging in CCS is not working. We don't know what the "normal state" of switch S6 is, but if the board can be detected with a mobile phone, then the switch S6 seems to be in the "Battery" position for passive operation. For CCS debug via JTAG interface and MSP-FET430 it would be required to switch S6 to the "Supply" position. Please check this first. If we misunderstood the issue, then please provide more details on what exactly is not working for which exact setup.

    Thanks.

  • Hello, s6 is the 'supply' state, but in the ccs debug state did not succeed, is it possible that the msp430 usb-fet target connection RF430FRL152H EVM has a problem, because ccs always show "unknown device", which means that the RF430FRL152H EVM was not detected? I'm guessing if there could be something wrong with the lines they connect.

  • Hi,

It would be possible that something is wrong with the MSP430 USB-FET cables, but it is very unlikely from our experience. We would rather suspect the RF430FRL152HEVM. You are aware of the jumper SV2, which is necessary for CCS debug. Btw: it is not required to connect an extra USB cable to the RF430FRL152HEVM, as it is supplied via MSP430 USB-FET. Sometimes the switch S6 position is not in solid contact and it might help to push the switch forth and back a couple of times, and finally make sure it is in solid "Supply" position.

    Thanks.

  • Hello, for these two points sv2 jumper and s6 I have checked many times, I think they are in normal, because it is a brand new jumper I checked at the beginning, s6 I also specially checked the 'supply' and 'battery' modes to make sure they can switch.

  • Hi,

The engineer just realized that it is jumper "SV7", which is required to close for CCS debug.

Do you have any other MSP430 eval board or another RF430FRL152HEVM, which he could connect to the FET for confirming functionality. The only alternative would be to return the board to TI for failure analysis.

    Thanks.

  • Hello, is the DuPont line has a problem, I bought a brand new DuPont line today, the result ccs on the debugging normal, the problem has been solved, thank you for the answer, delayed your precious time。

    Thanks.
