cc3200的mac和phy是封装好的？不能直接操控？

我想用cc3200做一种设备，由于设备的需求和功能，我想直接能操控mac层，但是我从开发板代码中看不到，只看到配置等操作都是通过spi_write,spi_read来操控的，而且有很多指令，这种操作相当于是在操作封装好的设备，mac与phy是不可见的！不知这种理解是否正确？
