Zigbee规范并未要求设备在MAC或APS应答中提供数据有效载荷。路由设备可通过设置“帧待处理”位来应答处于休眠状态的终端设备数据请求，从而使ZED知晓需开启接收器以接收传入数据包。此行为在所有芯片组中保持一致，这是实现Zigbee互操作性的必要条件。否则则需考虑采用专有射频解决方案。
