DAC161S997EVM: [Request for Guidance] How to correctly couple HART signals (TX & RX) between DAC8742HEVM and DAC161S997EVM?

Part Number: DAC161S997EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8742HEVM, , DAC8742H

Hi TI support,

I am integrating the DAC8742HEVM and DAC161S997EVM to build a HART-enabled 4-20mA transmitter. I need technical guidance on the complete signal coupling DAC8742HEVM.pdf :

  1. Connection and configuration: Should I AC-couple the MOD_OUT signal (after the 2.2µF blocking cap) directly to the HART_TX1 jumper pin on the DAC161S997EVM? Also, regarding the optional 0.022µF shunt capacitor (C15 on the DAC8742HEVM), should it be used or left open for hart mode?
  2. Transmission path component roles: Could you please explain the function of the following components on the DAC161S997EVM transmission path: R11 (49.9Ω), C18 (6800pF), and C19 (0.22µF)? I want to understand how these components work together to inject the HART signal into the loop.
  3. Blocking capacitor and path isolation: Is the C22 (2.2µF) capacitor on the DAC161S997EVM mandatory for this path? Additionally, I am concerned about the signal path isolation—if HART_TX1 and HART_RX1 jumpers are connected, it seems to bridge the TX and RX paths. Could you clarify the correct jumper configuration to ensure the external modem signal correctly drives the loop without interfering with the RX path?
  4. Reception Path and Filtering: I plan to use the HART_RX1 signal (after the 200Ω resistor and 0.22µF capacitor on the DAC161S997EVM) and connect it to the MOD_IN input of the DAC8742HEVM. Is this coupling method correct? Additionally, could you explain the purpose of these two components (200Ω/0.22µF) and whether they are sufficient for the input filtering required by the DAC8742H's integrated bandpass filter?

I have attached both the DAC8742HEVM and DAC161S997EVM schematics for your reference.  Any diagrams or design notes would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.
