DS90UB960-Q1 16 way camera scheme

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB960-Q1

Is there a ds90ub960-q1 cascade synchronization reference solution? I want to apply a 16 channel camera. How should GPIO 0-7 connect and set up synchronization? Is there a reference schematic?

  • Hello, we have the training video about " Multi-camera systems with DS90UB960 deserializer hub and TDA SoCs." Hope it is useful for you.

  • Using two DS90UB960-Q1 8-channel cameras, how to achieve this hardware synchronization, is there any relevant design information?
  • I am sorry we don't have the reference design.
About the sync function, you can use the UB960 internal sync. mode, you can make 1pcs UB960 generate the frame sync. and then send this frame sync. to GPIO pin, this signal can be used to driver the other GPIO pin as frame sync.
  • What should I do if I use external frame synchronization? My idea is to use FPGA to generate a fixed clock signal (frame synchronization signal), connect this signal to the GPIO pin of UB960, each UB960 only needs one GPIO synchronization signal, if I use my solution, I need FPGA to output other signals To GPIO?

In addition, regarding UB960, if four UB960s are to work synchronously, do the REFCLK pins of four UB960s need the same crystal to provide the clock? Will using separate crystals affect synchronization? The data sheet says that the accuracy of synchronization is related to the accuracy of REFCLK. Is this an internal synchronization of a single UB960 using only application software? How to configure REFCLK and GPIO hardware if using 4 UB960 external frame synchronization
