LM3489: Inductor Selection AND current limit design

hi Dears

          Base on design with Webench design reference ,  Vin ·4.5V~35V, VOUT 3.8V 0.1A,  I chose 220uH 0.45A,0.8R inductor, but during  start up , current though L could be reach 1.5A with 100us,  1.5A is more over 0.45A,  so my question is the inrush current  how to impact inductor selection.

            

  L 220uH Irate 0.45A, Isat 0.36A, Rdc0.8R,  inrush current 1.5A, 100us.

    Hi

       你的意思是要减小启动时的inrush，这个芯片没有软起动电容的外部配置，只能稍微将输出电容减小一些来减小输入inrush电容。

    我是对电感的选择有疑问， 电感根据设计的负载来说，0.1A的负载，选择0.15A的电流的电感就可以了，但是这里选择的电感0.45A了，可是我通过调节RADJA和RCS，仍然有电流比较大，启动的时候， 所以想问的是，这里的电感是要根据过冲电流选择1.5A的电感，还是按照计算或推荐设计的1.5*Iload的选择

    Hi

        计算电感用最大峰值输出电流来计算，不考虑输入的inrush电流，但是要尽量避免过高的异常inrush。

            非常感谢您的回复， 目前我的输出电流0.1A，按照1.5*Iout, 就是0.15A， 我选择0.45的电感， 是否合适， 异常的过冲是多大范围内， 我们存在一种情况会议1.5A100us的过冲，但这个情况比较少，是否可以这样。还是选择更大一点的电感。

        0.15A及以上饱和电流的功率电感都是可以的。

        你可以看一下datasheet第8页图17, 500mA负载下inrush只有800mA左右。

        所以如果输出0.1A,  inrush达到1.5A肯定是有异常的。如果选择更大规格饱和电流的电感可以大幅降低inrush， 有可能是负载启动瞬态有远超过0.1A的峰值电流，或者电感本身有问题。
