Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM
IWR6843AOPEVM: XDS110 only shows Data Port, Application/User UART missing on windows 10.
Hello,
I am using an IWR6843AOPEVM EVM board (no booster board or carrier board attached). The board powers up normally and all LEDs turn on when connected to USB. I am using the micro‑USB port on the debugger side (the only one that lights the LEDs).
Issue:
Windows enumerates the XDS110 incorrectly. Under Ports (COM & LPT) I get:
- XDS110 Class Data Port (COMxx)
- XDS110 Class Data Port (COMxx)
The XDS110 Class Application/User UART does not appear at all.
Under Other Devices, I also see entries named “Standard COM Port” and “Enhanced COM Port” with yellow warning icons. None of the TI XDS110 drivers will bind to these ports.
Tools tried (all fail):
- Installed the full XDS110 driver package
- Manual driver binding (Debug Probe, CMSIS‑DAP, Serial Trace, Data Port)
xds110reset.exe→ error: Failed to connect to XDS110 (-260)xdsdfu -e→ Found 0 devices- Power-cycle, different cables, different USB ports
- SOP jumper check (EVM powers and boots fine)
Symptoms summary:
- Only the Data Port enumerates (twice)
- Application/User UART endpoint never appears
- XDS110 cannot be accessed by DFU or reset tools
- Board powers normally and antennas/LEDs all behave
- Drivers are present on the PC but debugger firmware is not exposing all interfaces
This appears to be a corrupted XDS110 firmware on the EVM’s onboard debugger, where only the Data Port interface is active and the Application/User UART is missing completely.
