DRV8243-Q1: A recommended operating procedure when the load current reaches the threshold during the device operation

Part Number: DRV8243-Q1
We are currently using the SPI model of 8243. Sometimes the load current can reach the ITRIP regulation level, which will trigger some protection logic. I would like to ask if there is a recommended operating procedure when the load current reaches the threshold during the device operation. For example, should we first unlock the CONFIG register and then write to the CONFIG2 register to disable the current regulation?
  • If the current is being limited by the current set ITRIP threshold, then the ITRIP threshold can be changed to a new value or to be disabled while the motor is running, this is fine. If the CONFIG registers are locked with REG_LOCK then these bits will have to set to any value other than 10b first, then the ITRIP threshold can be changed.
